Just to make things worse, there is a space cloud heading our way at 540,000 mph and will collide with the Milky Way in 20-40 million years. Not to worry, as it is on track to hit about a quarter of the way around the galaxy from us. Hopefully there are no BCF members there. Stay tuned for further updates on galaxy fall.

Republican's strategy: Build huge nuclear weapon system of "mass destruction" and launch it into space with 100,000,000 troops to stop the collision.

Democrat's strategy: Negotiate with alien beings on planets in the path of the collision to discuss environmentally-safe strategies for collision avoidance. Discussions last for at least 20,000,000 years with no clear resolution to problem.

Kinda reminds me of when I was a youngster in grammar school in the 50s. The school had a drill for just in case we came under an atom bomb attack by the Russians. For real, we were all instructed to and practiced the drill of, getting under your desk and protecting yourself from a nuclear attach. S'pose I was ahead of my time, but I remember commenting to the teacher should we bend over real far and kiss our arses goodbye. Got my arse tanned for that comment.

Same here. Got relegated to a desk set up in the "lavatory"... the basement, really. Though THAT was just FINE. The local fire department would co-ordinate setting off the siren (loud enuff to be heard for MILES) to "alert" us to Duck-n-Cover. feh.
