Wife in for Gaul Bladder surgey this morning. All fine but she needs rest and care for a few days.

So, stoped by machine shop and got a short list and placed order with Tony. Went by Lowes and got 3, count em three, SS screws to mount the Flapper part to the Heater, hehe. Mounted same. See I did get some Bugeye work done after all.

Everytime I do something no matter how little Miss Agatha is so appreciative it's hard to resist.

My eBay wheels, four, are in the post from Mich, 65.00 delivered.

Waiting on shipping cost for complete overhaul gasket set, Payen, eBay again, 25 bucks.

And a stearing shaft mount and shims eBay, 15 bucks.

Seemed like the thing to do, price was right.

While speaking with machine shop asked about chrome plater, he says none down here, guess I will have to send this stuff off someplace one day. Just glad there is not an awful lot of it. But would be really nice if I could get stuff cad plated locally, I'm spoiled, a plater was only about 3 miles away when I was doing last car.

Granddaughter getting into this, she likes to spray PB Blaster on stuck stuff. She is almost 18, will graduate soon. Thinks Bug is neat, and thinks I just might let her drive is some, hehe. What I really need is a real car for her, sigh. Always something.

MGB GT for her Jack - MGB GT

But only GTs I have seen are way overpriced and condition was poorly.

In what condition would you want it?

Nice, for a gal to drive to local collage about 3 miles each way. something that would not let her down, she is about 5'8 and slim. Not restored of course but serviceable for a few years without working on it every free moment. Wonder if she could even get insurance, is it considered a sports car?

Now this was just a thought Tony, no clue what her dad and my wife would say.

Would you want to do some work - minor - to get it ready?

Sure, why not. Time I have it seems.

Solid body, decent interior, just needs carbs redone & serious tuneup of all systems - new grille & front bumper....around $1000 - sound interesting

Yes it does. Might be just the ticket for a graduation gift.

Can you email me pics so I could show wife and her father?

Also estimate of "all systems" tune up. Parts?

I'll take photos this week...carbs are already off...think just going thrugh brakes/clutch - normal things after a car has been sitting

Outstanding, if was just up to me sounds good, but got to sell the idea.

What is exterior like. Will a big time buffing hold it for a couple of years? color?

Red...

Oh my god, a Katie car. How about interior color and year pls.

You're not going to believe it: white interior - seats, door panels...think its a '73

Oh good o, just the thing for a young lady, can't wait for pics. later.

Can I butt in & see a few pics?

I've gotta take them -will let everybody know when I have them on my site.

hey jack you might try powder coating for chrome...
lots of very cool colors AND textures availabe....
all you need is a $80 gun and an extra oven...
im working on getting one myself...comments?

Tony is right, I second the BGT suggestion. The car that he mentions is a steal for a thousand bucks, good, solid, reliable little cars. They are fun to drive and very practical too. I was in a smash driving an MGB. A new-shape Cavalier hit me, and though both cars were totalled, the twenty-two year old MG came out significantly better than the Chevy. So it's better to be in one of those than a little tin box.

zimmy, you are sick.
