Seattle Craigslist this morning, guy giving away Midget parts.

I called, got his address and went to see.

Came home with the front fenders and center and grille from a 69 Midget. Free!!
Ok they have a bit of surface rust, I am storing them in a dry area until I can get to work on them.

(I know that apron has a bit more than surface rust, but that's the worst of it)

Free!!!

Or almost free, Got a pair of fiero seat's this weekend at the pull-a-part for 40.00. they are in fair condition but they will get a MRMIKES seat kit anyway. they were the 85 model with the speakers in the head rest also.

Cheep or free parts are always good.

heheheh...

she was pretty happy about it

I'm not naive, I know the most costly stuff you can ever get is "free".
In this case, I was looking for this stuff, it's not as pristine as I may have hoped but it only cost me an hour and I got to meet another Spridget enthusiast.
Not a bad day!

Ya never know what folks are willing to give away.

The best free part I ever got was a free GT6 bonnet! Yep, the whole bonnet! They've always been prohibitively expensive if bought new.

Scrubbed the rust off, primed it nicely and sold for a very nice profit . . .

Anybody else got a spare GT6 bonnet lying around??

That's about like getting a good aluminum MGC bonnet.
It does happen, but so far I've been just a bit late.
There's a guy named Todd here in the Northwest who apparently has lots of storage space because he gets to the MGC's just ahead of me and gets the good stuff.
Hmmm... that reminds me, he said he'd give me an intake a while ago.

Eh, it wasn't like it was anything close to mint. No rust on the body - later found out that's because the vehicle is about 25% bondo!

No complaints though, $0 price tag.

I got my 65 free, but it's not free any longer after 2 1/2 years of a little bit of everything. It will be worth every penney.

Exactly, Mark. I am $3,000+ into it (I don't keep track for a reason) and nowhere near finished. Actually, I am just slowly starting the "formal" restoration process. I am going to do it system by system, and then the body last. This way, I don't have the car down for 5 years while I slowly finance it all. A lot of these systems had/have to be corrected before it can be driven, so waiting 5 years to accumulate the cash won't work either as I wouldn't be able to drive it.
