My first car was a ’61 falcon. I have a feeling that the year it was built is the only thing my car has in common with that green one.

I covet that Futura. I "liberated" my mom's '61 Falcon coupe and seriously wanted a Futura drop-top as my own: Bucket seats and a floor mounted shifter.
Had to settle for three-onna-tree and tin lidded transport. Sometime around 1967. :smirk:
In 1969 I found a '66 MGB, the rest is history... or evidence of an ill-spent youth. :laugh:

Funny to read all the Falcon-love.
Before I bought the A35, I was very seriously considering building a first-gen Falcon for vintage racing. Took my driver's test in one and have some great memories.
With a 200 cu inch six and disk brakes, you could build a keen one.
Parts are still cheap and you never see one in vintage racing (There's a few of the newer, "square" Falcons, but that's about all). I was even thinking it would be neat to get the Australian parts and make it rhd.
