I attended the Middle Tennessee Austin Healey meet today at Motlow Community College. There were about 35-40 AHs there from all over the East. There were about 8 BE Sprites, one later Sprite, and a 62 Mini-Minor. They ran a cone course and there were a few Sprite drivers that really attacked the course. The leaders came down to a very aggressive Sprite and a '55 AH 100 equipped with a Corvette engine. Both were a sight to see out on that course. I will try to attach some photos if I can figure out how to do it.

SHEESH! So, where was THAT advertised? Nothing in the Nashville club notes...

Don't have a Healey, but would like to have gone anyway!

Mickey:

I didn't even know there was a Middle Tennessee Austin Healey Club until somebody referenced this meet during a post referring to the upcoming Nashville BCC Show in Franklin. I then Googled the Club and found their info. Like you, I was pretty surprised to see the NBCC site had no info on this meeting.

I went as a spectator (my BE seems to have a bad ignition switch). I arrived at the location around 10:15 (I was told, informally, that it might start at 8 AM) and saw about 10 AHs, including two BEs and a Jensen. I thought that was pretty cool, but then over the next 30 minutes it was REALLY COOL to see wave after wave of AHs come pulling in. There were maybe twice the number we get at the Franklin show, and then it was really exciting to see these cars being put through their paces, instead of just the usual museum "look don't touch" or the long parade approaches.

I think the NBCC should consider doing something similar in addition to its show.

The Smokey Mountain Austin Healey Club is hosting the same Southeast Classic nest year in September in Townsend, Tennessee. I'll post more about that show soon.

Mickey

I posted info on the Southeastern Classic show in Lynchburg on both the Spridget forum and on the Austin Healey forum on June 3. I did not post it on the event forum. At the time I didn't realize there was an event forum.

This is a good place to post, at least all see this.
