Just picked up the LTD...

Offline
It's actually not too bad. Runs really good. I picked up a r134 conversion kit for it, and a couple of window lift gears. Brakes feel a little mushy, so it may need hoses soon, but everything else is pretty nice - for a $600 car.

Oh, and it's two tone grey - which I like alot better than the light blue my wife has incorrectly remembered it being. I had told her if it's sky blue, I'm gonna have it painted. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gifI feel better about my Pinto now. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

I just keep saying to myself - "It's just a 4-door mustang" over and over again /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

I wonder how much work it would take to put this front bodywork on it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Congrats Kenny, She looks like a real creampuff. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

But hey maybe Tony could give you some pointers into converting it into a Grassroots Motor Sports 2007 Challenge Car? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Take heart - kidding aside - some of my best cars where purchased for less than a $1000.

Kenny:

It looks pretty clean. Seems like a good deal for the $$$.

I can see Pinky and The Brain driving that one. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Not toooo bad Kenny. I see where you will be replacing the freon. A bit of advice. IF you can fix the R12 system with a shot of freon, DO IT. I paid a friend of mine $40 to refill my truck and LOOOOOOVVVVVVEEEEEE every minute of it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It'd look like an Aussie Falcon if you did that, and Yes,
I've seen it done...

Oh, and just as an asides, The word "Aussie" is NOT pronounced
Ossie... It is pronounced "Ozzie", as in "Ozzie and Harriet",
you yanks can annoy the heck out of a Kiwi buy saying " Are
you an Ossie?"...

"YOU YANKS?" Oh sure that's much better than "Ossie". /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

How 'bout if I ask you to say "throw some shrimp on the barbie, or ain't she a beaut, or even worse - That's not a knife this is a knive"? - hehehehehhehe /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

Oh... that got me wondering... Does america advertise in foreign countries for people to come visit us? I see ads here to go visit many different countries. (shrimp on the barbie was in the austrailian one.)

My last known sources of an r-12 supplier dried up about 3 years ago. Last one was a guy that would recharge your system for about $20. He since ran out, and can no longer get anymore.

You're in tall cotton now, Kenny....you'll fit right in at the Senior Citizens Center.....hehehehe....actually, that looks like a great deal!

Not really, the Aussies(Ozzies) will laugh at you for your
mispronunciation, The Kiwis with snicker, because you can't
tell the difference between the accents. Kind of like the
New "Yawk" and Bostonian accent...

I can tell the South African from the Cockney, but to a Yank
it's the same...

Well... Truth be told - this is my wife's car... She bought it, with her own money, and is the first car she's had in her name in the past 4 years. And at $600, a pretty good deal at that. I just removed the door panels to replace the electric window lift gears, so now it's as messed up as the rest of my cars /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Wayyyyy tooo hot to be out there working on cars right now.

Oh, and Tony.... Julie wanted to let you know that she's crocheting right now /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

(she really is though - hehehehehe)

Little old womanhood - or new arrival - or just relaxing?

Just bored I think. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Nah, she's getting ready for her "ride"!

I saw apicture on a Ford website where someone had taken a Fairmont Wagon,& put a Mustang front end on it.
Bolts right up.
I thought that it would be a cool thing to do.
You could tell people that it was a "rare" Mustang model -
- they only built a limited number of them.
