Having been a British car fan since my '69 TR6, I've been without until I picked up this '52 MG-TD. 21k miles, original paint and original upholstery that the seller insisted was restorable. We'll see about that. Engine turns freely, hope to check it for compression today and maybe give it a start. This is my 9th restoration of various cars and I rely on these forums for information no manual can provide and I plan on using this one to the max.
Right now, I'm held back a little until my Whitworth tools arrive, but stay tuned.

Congrats on the new member of your family!

I once had a '53 TD, with original weather gear, kangaroo leather seats, brightwork, paint, engine. What a great car!

Welcome! It looks like a great project, being your 9th shows a certain level of dedication we can all appreciate. Besides, every car is restorable, though some may not be worth it, been there! From the photo it looks like a solid car. How long has it been off the road?
As for working on Whitworth/ British Standard fastener vehicles, it’s good to read you are getting some proper tools! In the meantime here is a link to a conversion chart. Even though I have a couple sets of W/BS wrenches and sockets, I printed the conversion chart out and posted it in my garage and refer to it more than I thought I would!

You may also want to get some BA (British Association) sockets and wrenches. You'll find those sizes on the SU fuel pump, carbs and linkages. BA screws in the distributor. Enjoy!
