Hi. just joined this forum. I'm based in North Wales in the UK and I have a 1958 austin healey 100/6 which i bought last year. Just getting to know my way around it and hope to learn lots from you all.

As another descendant of Wales, welcome to the best forum on the Net. I do have a Welsh Dragon badge on the grill of Fagin, my TR3B. I definitely plan on returning to the UK in the next couple of years on a 'holiday' and will be getting back to Betsw-y-Coed, Rhyl, and Cardiff among other places.

When I was still living with my parents in Holland we took three vacations to Wales and you have some perfect driving roads overthere.

thanks for all your replies and welcome, looks like I've come to the right place for info on healeys!! To answer some of your questions , I'm based in the Wrexham area in North Wales, but my mum's family is still based up in the Harlech/Portmadog area. The drive from Wrexham to Harlech is a fantastic journey in the healey - great twisting country roads, and fantastic scenery ( not that I get to look at that, too busy listening to that engine!!!!). I'm somewhat of a computer klutz, so i'm still trying to work out how to post some pictures!!

Welcome Gareth, but no Welsh please!I used to know North Wales well - rallied there many times, in Clocaenog and that area. I lived on the Wirral back then.
I also went to school in Wales and was brought up on Welsh Rugby, also made to learn Hen wlad fy nhadau, which I haven't forgotten to this day, over 50 years later!

Where did you go to school in Wales? I'm pleased to hear you can still remember Hen wlad fy nhadau, don't forget to sing it when the rugby world cup starts!!

Monmouth. Our School Coach was Glyn John, from Neath. Played for Wales (2 caps). Keith Jarret was a Monmouth boy.
