Man, what a trip! Would make a great short story. Will do a short mispelled write up when possible. I'm beat and gotta go in tommorrow.

O.K, the really short version.

Was just missed by a tornado that went over the truck stop we were at in AL. Misssed us by about 200 yards. Truck broke in VA, couldn't pay a guy $500 cash just to show up at work and just look at it. Set back 24 hrs, made it to Jersey but missed qualifying. Got 20 minutes of nite practice in. Boss made me crew leader ( I don't consider myself a chief yet.) Started dead last, passed 8 cars on the first straight. Had the lead by lap 12 and held it. Eight different people, two of which were from pro teams, came up to me and said what a great job we were doing and how fast and smooth out pit stops were. We were doing stops as fast as the pro teams. Not bad considering we've only done three stops before this event and no one knew what we were doing till right before the car came in.

Our guest driver was really impressed with our team. He set a new track record at 1/4 throttle but it doesn't stand cause it's an enduro event. Last hour, up by 12 laps. Wheel bearing starts making noise. Boss backs down a bit. Last 35 minutes, brake light fails. We get the black flag and come in. While we fix the car, boss jumps out and walks over to the port-o-let, when you gotta go, you gotta go. Car fixed and back out. Still up by 8 laps. We win; held 1st for 416 laps.

Head to podium; trophy girl, champagne bath and lots of pics. We all get little checked flags and eveyone goes nuts. First class podium!!! A day I'll never forget. I'll get pics when I can. Sorry write up isn't better, maybe later.

Ben, you missed it !!!!

Congrats! That's when it's really fun.

Sounds like quite the adventure, and with a win to boot. Fantastic!

PHOTOS, Billy!!!!

And hearty congrats!

Disclaimer: my numbers may be off by a lap or two. We had a short meeting before we left about who was going to do what, but two members weren't there. IMO, if everyone doesn't know exactly what's going to happen , then no one knows what the plan is. Pics to follow tommorrow.

ARRRRRRGGG! I knew I was gonna miss a good time!
Glad all went so well. I can't wait till you guys come to the Glen!

Any of those with crew in 'em your guys? Or YOU?

...and #27 seems to carry a similar livery. Any "relation"?
