Just got back from a Meecum auction

A buddy and I spent the day at the Mecum Auto Auction in Kissimmee FL today. I've always wanted to attend one of these events. I'm not sure how this venue compares to Barret Jackson auctions, but I was awed. Huge event, well produced, and literally thousands of collector cars to eyeball.
There was a sprinkling of LBC's there. I looked a 57 TR3 over closely. I'm not a judge, but I'd have called at maybe a high 8. It went for $23,500. I guessed $30K plus.
If you have an opportunity to attend something like this, I recommend it.
Be prepared for crowds.

Would love to go to one some day. I have to watch them in another room; drives the wife crazy!

I just got back from 4 days at Barrett-Jackson, Russo Steele & Gooding out in Phoenix.

Barrett is a circus. Lots of alcohol (I had a drink card that had 10 free drinks...PER DAY), pretty girls, loud noises and shiny cars. SOLD SOLD SOLD

We were on stage a lot,..and just to the left on stage when the Batmobile sold....that was insane.

Was at Gooding when they sold the Porsche they had for 2.9 million and the Ferrari 265 for 2.4 million. Crazy to watch.

I'll hit a Mecum auction this summer when they are closer to home....

If you have never been to an auto action like this, you should go just for the car show outside.
