Two types and two generations were used in Bs.
The D-Type were used in earlier cars, identified most easily by their external solenoid, then the LH type that came along later. The LH is divided into two subtypes, the Black label and the Blue Label. The blue label as installed is most easily identified by the fact that they were activated only in top gear instead of third and top gear as was the black label. Of course the most positive identification can be made by looking at the color of the name plate, as in the black one on yours. There is supposed to be a weakness inherent in the blue label units specific to a thrust washer failure, but IMHO for normal everyday use any design weakness is overshadowed by how the transmission is treated and maintained.
