The bride and I took a ride in the midget up the blue ridge parkway till it stops due to the rock slide then turned around and rode North back down our path and on over to hwy 74 and took it over and down hickory nut gorge past chimney rock and then to Lake Lure. We back tracked again and then took 64 back out of the gorge that way and back to Hendersonville and then back home from there via Howard gap road. The midget behaved flawlessly (the heater was valved off and no overheating or loss of water so the head gasket must have been the problem) and we ate the curves up and let midget just do what it was made for. We had no traffic in front of us coming up 64 to Hendersonville so we made record time through those curves, where we are usually following behind an SUV or muscle car who are hard on the brakes and then hard on the gas and are just frustrating to drive behind in a Midget.

Great that you got out, Kim. We're having another helping of winter around here.

better than my ride today! I had a 45 minute drive in pounding rain - discovered that head on rain leaks thru the joints on the top windshield frame & drips right down my left hand sleeve  which was annoying as that is my normal steering wheel hand, the right hand is to hold the shifter to stop it from rattling ! At least it doesn't leak around the windshield wiper posts & behind the dash anymore (changed the posts & gaskets earlier this weekend & got the passenger wiper working)
ahhh well all part of the "charm" - Midge did run well in the wet weather though so that's good to know.
Nice to hear somebody had nice driving weather !
