TR2/3/3A Just a quick thanks to everyone who helped with my questions

Finally got the motor and tranny in lastnight. Monday I tried, for 5 hours, to get that thing in as one unit. I couldn't do it... I still can't believe I couldn't do it, but after 5 hours and a ton of cuts and bruises later, I threw in the towel. I could not for the life of me get that angle right to get the tranny down, under, and up without either hitting the firewall or the front crossbar with the front of the motor.

So I took the tranny off yesterday and within an hour and a half had them both bolted on.

Thanks to everyone who answered all of my questions along the way. HUGE HUGE help. I can barely walk today and I've pretty much cut up every single finger, knuckle, and palm of both of my hands... but she's in. A few more days and i'm going to fire her up for the first time.

If this engine doesn't start i'm pushing it right off the skyway bridge. lol

I have to say that you did great getting just the engine in alone if the apron was still on! Even that is a tight fit.

I just put an engine in and feel for you. Too late for your project but I'll offer here for future reference:

My arms and hands tend to bleed (or get Purpura if you know what that is) from even very minor contact with hard objects - so I wear a pair of Kevlar sleeves I got from Amazon:

These things are tough and (when I remember to have them on) protect me well. Mechanics gloves are also helpful but pretty useless (for me) for handling tools and small parts.

Billy, Hope all fires up and runs good for you. Did you get new rings or just use the set "as is"? Geo, I need those glove/sleeve things. I can't look under the hood of a car without a bruise or cut.
