Just a quick up-date on state of affairs

Received speedo angle drive from tranny rebuilder in
Australia. Slightly different than the parts I've been
receiving.

Part installed nicely, but speedometer does not work. Get
occasional tiny droplets of oil thrown from somewhere onto
the windshield and boot area of car.

Still driving without tunnel cover, etc, open to the ground.
(This points up the appeal of our cars: greater chatter
from the drive line; air velocity; engine noise and oil
flying....yep, I read the thread on our women...you gotta
have testosterone to really appreciate these cars....)

Bottom line: Speedo angle in. Speedometer INOPERABLE.

Don't know if the latest problem in the saga is with the
cable. Have to check out the oil seal now on the speedo
drive gear, I suppose.

Car drives, though running rich. Have to verify timing
and carbs. Thinking to try color tune for timing, then
on to carbs.

Step One:

Uhhhhh.........that is not normal and needs your attention ASAP.

Step Two:

Pull the cable from the back of the speedometer and bring it out where you can see it. Drive the car and see if the cable is turning while you are driving. Obviously, it should turn faster as you accelerate.

Step Three:

Get back to us with the answer to Two after fixing One.
