Ever wonder where the term "Jump The Shark" came from?

DEFINITION
informal

  • (of a television series or movie) reach a point at which far-fetched events are included merely for the sake of novelty, indicative of a decline in quality.

This was the genesis:

Not only did I know - but I very very clearly remember watching the episode.

Terrible episode and a blight upon a great show.

Oh, so you're the one!

Yes I am - the very last fan

Actually it is amazing how often we see it - and โ€œjumped the sharkโ€ is part of our daily language. We arenโ€™t huge TV watchers but it sure seems to happen a lot

Another catchy little phrase...
"Let's don't be L7's"
NOT the Fonz....

JP,

Don't feel bad - I'm one of the seven people who paid to see
the movie "Heaven's Gate" when it came out.It starred Kris Kristofferson,
& closed within a week,if I remember right.
It also brankrupted the movie studio that financed it.

Hey that "Trojan War" movie has an E-Type in it! That's worth the price of admission right there!

I had exactly the same response!

Looked like it had something else interesting too.

V-12.
