Judson Supercharger On A 1275

No, not really. To spin it fast enough to make boost you create too much heat and negate any gains. I do not know about the shorrock

I had a Judson on my 190SL years ago. Not the same, of course, but it produced about 10 lbs boost and added significantly to the performance. The car really needed it. I never noticed any significant heat problems and I recall it spun just a little faster than the engine, maybe 10% or so. I wouldn't do it today, however, for 2 main reasons. First, keeping the oil drip just right was a never ending effort and second, the vanes were just too noisey. OK, maybe a 3rd reason: those side drafts with the long intake tube were a whole lot prettier.

The Judson spridget kit was designed for a 948cc engine. When you mount it to a 1275 you have to overdrive it to create measurable boost. Over driving creates a very hot charge. These are known and documented issues.

Hey guys, been way too long from here. Here's a 948 we built with the Sherrock SC. Well I was gonna post a pic of it here, what's up with the ultra pic files you have to do here??
