When's the last time time (if ever) you've seen a Jowett Javelin? One of our British Saloon Car Club members recently finished off restoring one in Ontario... He has set up a nice webpage, with lots of documentation of the work done plus some pictures of the final product.

He thinks his car is the only Jowett Javelin east of British Columbia within Canada... There is at least one in British Columbia (Prince George I think...) Anyone else know of any within North America?

Anyway, enjoy the pictures of a very rare car over here.

I've seen a handful over in the UK but never in Canada. I've always really liked them - quite advanced for the day.

I took a picture of one at British car day here at Bronte Creek..........Since i don,t know how to link the photo to here you can see it at www.eastendersbritishcarclub.info /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/canpatriot.GIF /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gifClick on the Bronte creek photos.........Lovely mechanical piece of ingenuity

Actually the one you have a picture of is Eric's car... He has pictures on his website of the Jowett at the Bronte Creek Show.

Tom McCahill, the great automotive writer, had one of my favorite lines ever about the Jowett: "It goes into a corner like a porpoise with heartburn...and handles like an eight day clock with a broken mainspring."
