Another sad passing...author and barrister John
Mortimer, creator of the inimitable Horace Rumpole and our oft-used SWMBO referrence (She Who Must Be Obeyed)! In the words of PM Gordon Brown, John Mortimer was one of the country's "best loved authors"!
 
Yes, I had read that he had passed his "Rumpole of the Bailey" was one of the best series that was PBS's "Mystery". Leo McKern, who has also sadly passed was great as Rumpole. A while back my wife gave me the entire Rumpole series on DVD. Great show.
