<span style="font-weight: bold">Job Description:</span> As a member of our team, you will support a national multi-disciplinary science organization that focuses on biology, geography, geology, geospatial information, and water. You will work as part of an integrated project team to provide primarily server-based and minimally desktop support. Administer multiple web mapping servers and applications to ensure optimal system availability in a multi-server web mapping services environment. Ensure that all GIS servers and applications meet government and industry security standards. Create and maintain GIS services. Monitor GIS servers and generate monthly reports. Communicate with internal and external customers regarding system status and system resource requirements. Establish and maintain GIS system documentation. Troubleshoot any issues that may arise with the servers and associated software. Provide training and advisement on the GIS servers, hardware/software upgrades. Communicate technical information to a wide audience of varying technical levels both orally and in writing.
Education/Skills: MS Windows operating systems, Windows 2003 Servers, ESRI GIS Servers (ArcIMS, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Image Server), ArcSDE technology, Apache web server, IIS, Tomcat, ArcGIS Desktop (ArcMap, ArcCatalog), HTML, Geodatabases, GIS services (Web mapping, metadata, and geoprocessing services), Script writing, Microsoft Internet Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server, MS Office.</span>
