For those of you who knew Jim Albeck, I must pass on some sad news.

Jim Albeck, from Agoura Hills, CA, passed away Friday, 7/9/04, from a brain aneurysm.

What a shock ! At the AHCA Conclave in San Antonio, TX, during the last week of June, I spent over an hour talking with Jim, taking pictures and getting the details of his modification to his Jensen GT (picture - https://ntahc.org/op/JensenGT1.jpg)
for our Modified Austin Healey Registry web page - www.ntahc.org/modifiedhealeys.

Jim's Jensen GT was also featured in this month's AHCA magazine, the "Healey Marque" (page 18).

Jim was indeed an EXTRAORDINARY, TALENTED, and NICE man.

Our sport will truly miss him and his talents.

My condolences to his family.

Tim and Bugeye, Thank you very Much.----Keoke

I first met Jim and Shirley at Conclave 2001, then saw them again briefly at Tahoe the following year. About a week later I broke my transmission not too far from Thousand Oaks. Jim spent two full days with me at Smitty's shop working on the installation of a replacement transmission and afterward he and his wife Shirley took Mary and me to dinner. He was a prince of a guy and will be missed.

This is indeed sad news. Jim was a real enthusiast for the marque and its owners. Talented, personable, and with a great sense of humor, Jim and his wife Shirley toured the country in their Healeys from their home base on the California coast. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, and whether you knew him or not, the "Healey movement" is diminished by his absence.
