Jet Rovers

In the late 1940's, Rover began to dither around with jet-turbine engines. They built a number of experimental street cars and eventually, the LeMans-racing Rover-BRM driven by Graham Hill and Jackie Stewart.

Chrysler had several turbine powered cars starting in 1954. In 1964/65 they were even "loaning" them out for three months at a time to selected individuals. Sadly most of the 45 cars in that program were destroyed. See the story www.turbinecar.com
