Jensen Interceptor

Hello everyone,

I was hoping to touch base with Jensen Interceptor owners. We have a 1974 Mark III which has been off the road now for about 15 years (dry stored). It was my daily driver for a few years but then our son started kart racing and we needed a larger vehicle to tow a trailer. I fluctuate between selling it and restoring it depending on the day - it is taking up precious garage space as my husband does not have enough garage room to do any little projects. I have suggested he park his '47 Ford hotrod outside in the rain but that doesn't go over very well.

So, any JI owners out there?

Kate.

Kate,

Welcome to the forum! I don't have an interceptor, but I do have a Jensen Healey. If you need help or contacts let me know as I know a fair amount of the Jensen folks aound. I'm certain that any other Jensen owners on this forum will chime in.

Hi, and welcome to the Forum!

Hello! And welcome to the best forum on the net. Sorry I'm so slow with the welcome. The Interceptor is a rare and fascinating car. Seems to me to be the best of a muscle car and an LBC.

Hi Kate,

"Welcome" to the wonderful world of "LBCs" on the "BCF".

A "LOOOONNNNGGGG" time ago there was a gent who I knew had a Jensen & what a neat car then. I suspect the same now. Did they ever make them as a convertible? Just goes to show you how much I know about them.

Personally I don`t know of anyone who has one but I`m sure you`ll probably bump into a few Jensen owners on this site.

Be sure to introduce yourself to the "Other British Car" section & Let the people know there what your looking for.

Best Wishes from the Pocono Mtns of PA.

Russ

Depending on how tall your garage is, you might consider one of those 4 post lifts. Raise the Jensen up out of the way. Open up some floor space. And you'll discover other uses, ie. working on the hotrod, I am sure!

They not only made a convertible, but they made 4WD Interceptors. I have a collegue here in Denmark with a pre-production convertible prototype.
Facinating cars. Jensen was the constructor of bodies for many different British (and Swedish) cars.
Sounds like time to build, rent or otherwise expand your garage space. And get going on putting the Jensen together. (Do you really need a bigger vehicle than a Jensen with a 440 V8 for towing around a go-cart?)
They made 385000 1947 fords
They made 6400 Jensen Interceptors between 1966 and 1976
