Jensen 541

The title problem is no problem...I can fix it in about an hour at my local courthouse...the car, on the other hand, is another issue altogether!

What a lovely ol' shoe that could turn out to be... *sigh*

...if I were only 15 years younger...

The title is unfixable here in KY. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cryin.gif I lived in 'Bama for several years and got spoilt. Just don't let on that you drove the car to the courthouse before you put the plates on it!

You got it, Steve...or do it like I do so you don't have to take the car down there....

These are neat cars, and pretty rare over here...

Back when I lived in Barrie, Ontario, a friend was finishing up a restoration on a 1956 Jensen 541, I moved back west before he finished it (or I assume he has finished it by now...)

He has no title problems, as he brought it over from England with him when he moved here in 1976, and prior to that it had been his dad's car...

The stories Peter had about the car, and how powerful the engine is... I did hear it running a couple of times in the garage, but never saw it move

Looks like it has the Austin 4 liter 6 cyl. This one would have to be "labor of love" resto, I think. (I know, aren't they all?)

Fwiw, titles aren't needed in Maine for cars this old, just a bill of sale. I think 15 yrs is the cutoff.

Yes, as I recall (from my friend) the same engine as the Vanden Plas sedan and limo, but specially tuned for Jensen...

SOLD! for $7200

That strikes me as quite a bit for a roller with a pile o' parts engine and no title. Maybe the new owner will show up here.

Have a nice day
Steve
