Jaguar is sold........

"DA_N" another company bites the dust! :madder:

You can bet that Ford will sooner or later have all mfg. and ass`y. done in India!

Why should they keep sinking $$$ into a sinking ship? They (Ford) obviously just wanted out! Fords not smart but their not stupid either.

Just a passing thought,

Russ

Ford just had another of their "better ideas"!!!

I Love that parable!! Says it all in a nutshell!
And, I am sure things will improve in Indias reputation! They are an industrious people!

I'd like to see a retro jag. They look too much like a taurus in my opinion.

:iagree:

Here's a retro I'd like to see:
Didn't they already do that one? Called it the S-Type?

Last year, when my younger daughter was looking for a replacement for her well-worn 2002 Maxima, she asked me about the Jaguar X-Type.

Her Nissan was a 5-speed stick and she liked the idea that the X-type could be gotten with a 5-speed.
It's about the same size as a Maxima and she liked the 4-wheel drive in the Jaguar too.

Of course, even then, we all knew that Tata was looking at Jaguar. So I told her to skip the Jag (and yes, we all know it's really a Ford Mondeo).

So naturally, being a kid, she bought the Jaguar.
(so far it's been good and the regular dealer service seems fairly priced).

I've driven it and it's really nice...not as smooth as the new Accord we just bought, but not so "Buick-ish" either. The car has the ubiquiteous 2.5L Duratec V6, which the SAE rated as one of the best engines of all time.

By the way, does anyone recall when Tata had plans to build a "new" MG Midget roadster? That was about 5 years ago. I saw pictures of it and I really think it would have been much closer to a "real" MG than the "Nanjing Modern Gentleman" that we've heard about more recently.
