Jaguar [and other LBC's] K/O Hammer

The MKX tool kit post took a twist to Knock-Off hammers. I just spoke to the nice people at The Cook Hammer Company and was assured that the hammer listed by Moss Motors as a four pound zinc hammer is indeed a four pound lead hammer. P/N 386-180. This is the hammer with the black plastic grip. It is also the only hammer that I have found that does little or no damage to K/O's. It's life around the shop is also very limited. I think it is only good for about 100-200 hits. Zinc belongs in motor oils which would be a good topic for discussion another day.

Hello Alan,

the traditional mallet is a combination copper one end and hide the other. I never experienced any damage to the spinners using one and it would certainly have a much longer life than the zinc (lead) hammer that you mention.
