Jaguar 340

Good morning...I’m stopping by from the TR and Spridget forum to ask about the 340 series. Reason being, I have 4 hubcaps in good nick that I am planning to use for another project and if they are rare I would rather save them. Any ideas?
Thanks, Rut

well, no.
But, somebody could have a deep desire to have them.

240 and 340 were last couple of years of MK2 production, Ambla (vinyl) interior, small bumpers, basically a last ditch attempt to pawn off vehicles nobody was buying any more.

Stateside, dealers ordered out MK2 bumpers, badging, anything they could to make them look like MK2's and actually sell them.

Seen a couple of full wheel cover caps over the years, don't know what yours are.

Three rivet snap on caps, what else do they fit?

I don’t know if they fit anything else, just bought them to make shop/man cave clocks and thermometers.

Yeah, now I remember. Fully rounded, no fake knockoff ears like a MK2. And different badge (changeable).

I suppose if somebody was doing a full-on 340 resto, probably worth something, but you could sit on them for a long time looking.

Thanks, clocks and thermometers they will be.

Same hubcap in reproduction stainless are over $300 a set. The rusty originals on Ebay are about $85-$100. If sets are needed they usually rechrome. Make your clocks and thermometers, would be highly collectible by enthusiasts.

Larry,
I used 2 of the hubcaps today for one of each for my shop and I’ll probably put the other 2 on eBay. They were in surprisingly good condition and I don’t have a need for the leftovers.
Thanks, Rut

To close this out I’ve posted a picture of my little project. If anyone is in need of a couple of hubcaps, just let me know.
Thanks, Rut

Look good. Unfortunately, I am out of wall space in my shop and office. Got too much stuff.
