Jag XK120 ro=Zagato formerly owned by Scott Gauthier

I am a fan of Zagato carrozzeria but can't say the XKs that Zagato bodied were successful, at least they weren't saleswise. Famous jeweler SCOTT Gauthier OF Scottsdale found the car in Florida And restored it. It has been in several concours and now changed owners. I was wondering if there was ever a story in a Jag club publication that told how Scott got wind of it and what the Florida owner was asking for it? It seems to have been missing the bumpers--so maybe it was sold as in incomplete restoration accompanied by boxes of parts.Thnks for any history

I have a fiberglass replica XK-120 for sale, 1982 Mustang V6 and chassis, 3-speed auto transmission. wire wheels, very "authentic" replica of the 1949 Race Winner XK-120.

Car is a driver, will drive home. No rust, super clean but needs minor work and lots of detailing, fresh paint (Gelcoat actually!!), and interior / Seats to your liking. Proportions are perfect. Trunk lid needs reinforcing with a rib, and it needs lid props (modern Hatch shocks), or mechanical prop or "Stay", it doesn't have any. Hood / bonnett is pretty sturdy as is, but could be reinforced. Nothing else missing. Has a removable foldable Top. No cracked fiberglass panels.

Any way you look at it, it is a rarity and a fabulous full scale Toy, of course it is not an original Jaguar, but it sure fools everyone and it leaves any XK in the dust. Engine idles nicely and does not smoke, modern aluminum radiator and electric fan. Simple domestic carburetter. Electrically simple and reliable.
