Jag S-Types and X-Types

Yesterday I was behind an S-Type Jag when when we passed a Ford Taurus in the outside lane. Then coming to work today, I was behind an X-Type. Seems that the Ford design influence on Jaguar is more profound than I had realized before.

Has anyone else noticed that the rear end of both cars look like the rear end of a Taurus? Probably everyone has and I am just slow on the uptake! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

I must be even slower on the uptake.... still haven't noticed the similarity....

Oh I've noticed little clues that Jag is now basically just British ford. Its really saddening to see that happen to a once great company. Though in another 10 or 15 years, we may very well be lamenting Ford and GM if things keep going the way they currently are.

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/iagree.gif That's why I'm hanging on to the '66 Mustang convertible. Imagine what its value will be when Ford is a "fallen flag" and there are no new Mustangs bieng produced! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

The X-type is a Ford - it's a Mondeo with engine work. (Mondeo is a European Contour)

all Jaguars are Ford-influenced since 1989 when Ford "rescued" Jaguar. Same with Volvo, Mazda, and Aston Martin. All "rescued" by Ford. you remember "quality is job 1"?? and "Ford has a better idea"?? never happened. All corporate mumbo jumbo. People kept buying Toyotas ignoring Ford, and they still do today! GM "rescued" Saab", biggest fiasco in car history. Volkswagen "rescued" Rolls Royce and by golly they're doing a better job than Rolls ever did, but they can't make decent Volkswagens. I'm outta here.
