TR6 Jag ball joints donot work on TR6!!

AS some of you know I was going to try the Jag ball joints to give me more negetive caster (this was according to J.K. Jackson), well they dont work. Two reasons--the Jag ball joints tappered shaft does not fit right--and something that should have been more obvious to me is that the trunnion is preset to a specific angle (caster) and any induced change in the caster puts the trunnion in a bind. I didnt realize (stupid) this untill I had put the front end back together and found that the steering was too hard to turn. originally I had induced more negetive caster by adding more shims to the rear which pushes the bottom wishbone with trunnion forward--I wonder how much bind I had with that set up?--it was tough to turn at low speeds. The good thing is that its easy to change out the upper ball joints.--- I KNOW MANY OF YOU TRIED TO TELL ME NOT TO CHANGE TO THE JAG---YOU WERE RIGHT. For sale(cheap)Jag ball joints.

will they fit a MK VIII? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Hi,

Which Jag ball joints did you try? Just from memory, I think Mark IV were the recommended ones.

I know for a fact that one of the ball joints fit a TR6, I just don't remember the specification or who told me or was he pulling my leg or....
Dang, I thought for sure they fit?

DNK, if you read all my post on this subject including the one above, you will see I listed exactly where the info came from and which one was supposed to fit.
