Some axles have a removable pumpkin (center section) as shown. Some only have a rear cover with the guts only accessible through the back cover. Not easy to quickly change gear ratios. How many pumpkins does it take to make a "pumpkin patch"?

I just slip it under one of the front spring pans,lift it a bit and then put the cheapie under the "otter" one /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif.Jack the cheapie a bit and remove the racing one.Now install a second cheapie where the racing one was and up we go!----Keoke
 
Keoke, why do you remove the racing jack. Can't it be used along with the cheapie. Also when putting the jack stands in the back along the axel, are they inside or outside the rails which straddle the pumpkin?
 
The racing jack gotta go lift the pumpkin and it gets in the way depending on what you are doing. The stands in the rear will set just inside the leaf springs. You can also locate them directly under the REAR spring bottom plates. However, avoid using the rear cross member like the plague-Keoke
