J-type Overdrive Pressure Port Question

The j-type has a port/plug just below and forward of the solenoid. I believe the port is for attachment of a pressure gauge. Does anyone know the size of this port and the thread measurement for the appropriate fitting?

You should start with a thorough cleaning of the series of filters accessed through the bottom of the unit. The J has a much better system to remove swarff than the A type, hence its better performance. But they gotta be clean before you test it.
