I was posting for a time about a year ago. I then got very busy, married, and moved. Things are starting to slow down, and I am planning to get my 74 B back to my place and go through it this winter. I will be in asking questions, but just thought I would say howdy.
One starting question. Whenever I washed the car previously the rubber strips would bleed out onto my frechly cleaned white paint leaving black streaks. Do I have to replace all rubber seals or is there an easy way to stop this (besides not washing the car). /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif Thanks

The rubber is bleeding because its old & dried out...good thing to think about replacing over the winter

Welcome back, glad to have you posting again. Congratulations on the marriage and all, and well done on keeping the LBC! I would suggest that the black streaks are more a product of something that is on the rubber, rather than the rubber itself. Did you use something to dress the rubber up at any time? You might try a proprietory cleaning solution (Griots Garage sells a rubber cleaner www.griotsgarage.com ) and then see if the streaking has gone away.
