I've got to be crazy...

Here I go again. Just finished my 76 MGB rubber-to-chrome bumper conversion project and enjoyed every minute of it. Especially the chats with the good folks at BCF. Time for a well deserved rest, right? Well...today I was minding my own business when a friend called to tell me about a 69 TR6 for sale. I called and made an appointment for Thursday to see the car. I'm told it's a driver and I am in the market for something thats easier on $3/gal gas than my pickup truck. Well,my neighbor stops by some 15 minutes later to tell me of a MGB that's for sale for $1500. The bait's on the hook! To make a long story short, I'm now the proud owner of a 69 MGB/GT, purchased from the original owner the car, and I drove it home!!! Here's the clincher...I'm still going tomorrow to see the TR, and if its half the car this "new" B is, I'll probably buy it also. I have got to be CRAZY. but I keep thinking that soon these $1500 cars will be gone and I'll look back years from now and say, "I wish I'd bought that car..." I'll let ya'll know what happens tomorrow. Bob

Lol, Friend you have been bitten by the bug. Enjoy

You're crazy. But you're my kind of crazy. This is also the perfect time of year to start finding good deals on LBCs so if you're gonna build up a stable of cars then now is a good time. The market seems to be going up steadily each Summer so next year, unless the bottom drops out of the market, those same cars will be even less affordable. If I hadn't bought my MGA when I did a few years ago then today I would be one of the people saying the same thing about wishing I had bought that car, because they are now becomming unaffordable to the average Joe.

Maybe I should hire out as a "scout". I do have a knack for finding LBCs. I have a terrible habit of looking in peoples backyards as I drive about. And I'm not too shy to stop and talk to people.

Oh yea...how many times in my life I have said "I wish I'd bought that car..."
A little duece coupe for $250...only needed a little chrome and a paint job...the summer before "American Grafitti" came out..
Same summer...a '65 Corvette convertible for $2000...OMG
...a '69 Camero SS396 (number 369 of 500 made) for $1500
...a complete original '52 MGTD in about 50 peices for $500
...a '65 GTO convertable, triple white, that moved to CA along with a very beautiful blonde owner /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Oh but the list goes on...my advice is to buy them both if you can...I have never regretted buying, but many times have regretted NOT buying a classic car. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nopity.gif

How do you guys think I found all my MG's...my nose can spot one through a thicket of bushes...in your neighborhood, under your nose!
