Many of you may have seen this picture before...
IMG_1944.jpg

It's TS39083L and it was parked outside under some pines for many years. I bought it a few months ago and now have it in my shop and it's getting dimantled for parts.

The amazing thing about this car is it's originality...it probably has never been touched (or changed). Every factory nut, bolt, clip, spring, washer and such appears to be original. original radiator and heater hoses (and clamps). Only two non-stock hose clamps on the water bypass hose and a non-original ammeter show any evidence of it ever being repaired.

Those little aluminum clips that hold the temp capillary tube and fuel line together were intact and they were insulated from the line with narrow black cloth tape...an original touch, I'm sure.

The odometer show only 43,000 miles...it may have been spun back at some time. Whatever it's story it has been a real adventure dismantling (and saving) all of these interesting parts.

I hope you took photos of little details like the cloth tape/clips. That sort of detail will be priceless to restorers.

You know I thought of that AFTER I removed it...what a DA.

It's pretty amazing at how stock this car is...

That picture makes me want to cry.

I've seen some almost as bad. I had somebody try to sell me a long door TR2 years ago in a little better condition for $3,000.

I'm going to try to save the cowl with the vin plate in case someone would want to resurrect this car in the future. Sooner or later this might be economically feasable like it is in England.
