It's The Little Things...

Yeah, Shawn, that's the kind of thing I'd get involved in, too. The part that bugs th' snot outta me is he had to ask HOW MANY other folks before he found YOU.

...tho I did find a twenty dollar bill in a parking lot last year with no name on it. I kept that.

It was mine- i never put my name on the twenties-just the fifties

And, Doc, I found a wallet on US 17 in Myrtle Beach many years ago. No name or ID of any kind, no credit cards. Just $300.00 folded up. I had no choice but to keep it. But I didn't spend it all in one place.

..... on the other end.Way back when,I was riding my
CanAm 250 enduro on a rural two lane highway.I turned onto
another two lane road in the middle of nowher.I stopped on the
side of the road.A logging truck stops, driver gets out,& hands
me my tool kit!
I really hope he was "payed forward".

I worked at a Honda store in Woodstock Ontario in the '80S.
One day a fellow walks in the door and hands me a snap-on ratchet and socket. Says he is from Mass. and was in the shop two years before while on vacation. I left the tools while helping him get on his way, (it was a Sat. afternoon).
I never forgot that little act of kindness.

Dave

I flagged down (honked down?) a car that had pulled out of a parking lot with a purse on the roof. After frantically honking and flashing my lights, the car pulled over, a lady got out, and although she was initially bent out of shape because she had no idea why I was trying to get her to stop, as soon as I said "You left your purse on the roof!" and she saw what I was pointing at, boy she did a complete 180 and was very thankful that I had tried to get her to stop.

She was obviously not a classic car lover. I have been pulled over by cops, flagged down on the road, waylaid in parking lots and followed home by people who want to check out the spitfire. And it doesn't even look good yet. I'm used to it anymore.

Anyone ever see the movie "Pay It Forward"?

Absolutely! And after my wife and I were blessed with an amazing foster daughter - who we've since adopted - we decided to pay it forward by taking in a brother and sister with special needs who needed an emergency placement of 2 weeks, to 2 months - 9 months TOPS - almost 6 years ago. We wanted to give back for all the unexpected treasures that our first daughter brought to us by helping out these two children. We're going to have 3 adopted children soon....

If only more people would follow that way of living.

"Pay it Forward" -- a great concept once noted by Benjamin Franklin, and a good way to go about a life.

The showing of "Pay it Forward" should be part of early education! If more children (who really GET the concept!) were exposed to it the world would improve by leaps and bounds!...Better a Hopeless Optimist than a Hopeful Pessimist!!
