Is your "new/old" wheel OK? You commented it took some years to find them.

You're lucky. Did you ever see the in car video of Tony Drew's axle breaking at speed? The pictures show the aftermath but the video tells the story........no warning at all. It's a big file but worth the download.

The ARE type "LE Mans" wheel is badly deformed and cracked at the hump.
But I gave it to a special wheel repair company and the wheel will return next week in close to new condition including some x-ray photos to make sure that the welding process was mistake free.

I was warned several times that these axles can break but I didn't found any time to look after them. Funny that I asked a parts supplier a few days before the race how much new axles would cost. Too late. My own fault.
