You're lucky. Did you ever see the in car video of Tony Drew's axle breaking at speed? The pictures show the aftermath but the video tells the story........no warning at all. It's a big file but worth the download.

The ARE type "LE Mans" wheel is badly deformed and cracked at the hump.
But I gave it to a special wheel repair company and the wheel will return next week in close to new condition including some x-ray photos to make sure that the welding process was mistake free.
