Have had our Craftsman riding mover/ tractor for over 20 years. A couple weekends ago younger son was out moving the lower half and the thing started sputtering and surging and generally running like - you know. Cleaned the filter and plugs and no joy. Determined the issue had to be the fuel system. It's a 19HP Twin Briggs and Stratton motor so I ordered a carb/ fuel pump rebuilt kit and finished the job today.
Happy to report it runs like new again!
Can't complain - this thing as given us great service for 20+ years and I've only had to do some minor maintenance (inner tubes, belts, battery, new blades, etc.). I was thrilled when the carb rebuild solved to poor running issue. Thing runs like a top now.
