It's a sign I say....

I spent more time laying on my back under the car again today. In addition to investigating my speedo cable, I took the opportunity to 'straighten' out the passenger side inner fender splash guard (the part that seals between the body tub and the fender), and attempted to remove the right front tie rod end from the tie rod ... no go on the tie rod stuff... again.

Anyways, I started the speedo cable trouble shooting by disconnecting the "Service Interval" counter to speedo cable and verifying it still spun freely and smoothly. It seemed ok. Next I disconnected the cable from the transmission to Service Counter, at the service counter, and it did not want to spin... Then, I disconnected this cable from the transmission and removed it from the car completely so I could watch both ends. Low and behold, the transmission end spun freely, while the service counter side did not move at all. So, I guess I found the faulty part... Kind of odd for the cable to break IMO... but I guess it was bound to happen with one end bound like it is... I can see myself dissecting that cable after I get a replacement. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
