It's a jungle out there

Elderly lady (probably in her 80s) just moved into the neighborhood. The yard had not been maintained by the previous owners and then we have had a ton of rain this summer. All this led to this lady's yard looking like a jungle!

I went to her door and offered to run my tractor around her yard - an offer which she gladly accepted (and she gave my a bottle of wine and a bottle of champaign when I finished) (I don't drink but it will come in handy next time my wife's lady's group meets at our house) :D

The front yard wasn't too bad, but when I went to the back yard - YIKES! Here is a picture after cutting about half the back yard. The entire yard was just like what you see to the left of the tractor.

All that great mulch, hay, and compost material! Any hungry cows nearby?

Mine looks similar to this, after I turned it from "mowed and watered weekly" to "no mow no water pollinator meadow" -

I got the idea from the "No Mow May" movement last spring.

you are a good neighbour! I follow a guy on another forum who lives in New Zealand - as he cleared his bush lot (probably worse than that) he found many things - including a couple of lawn mowers. :ROFLMAO:

Been gong from our old house since middle of June and my old neighbor texted me and told me to come mow the grass. Hasn't been done in weeks
And I lived in a strict HOA neighborhood

How's island life treating you?

So, Don, why has that semi-thoughtful neighbor not done the job? Or p'raps doesn't know you've made a clean escape?

Oh, he knows
3 neighbors around around him moved in a 3 week timespan
And he started it
He just didn't follow through

Don - did you have to move *because* of that guy?

Goats-R-Us will munch through this job in no time! Rent the goats next time; they leave no trace but little manure pellets.
