On April 19, a young pilot attempted to land his Taylorcraft near 6,000 feet on an unnamed peak east of Bald Mountain in the Talkeetnas (AK) to explore ski and snowboarding opportunities. Unfortunately, the snow where he touched down was crustier than he expected.

Pilot and his buddy were able to squeeze out the left window and make it back home. But for some reason he's a bit embarrassed about it.

Maybe that's why helicopters where invented
 
The last I heard from a guy up there, they were going to try to put a cable on it and pull it out with a helicopter but they were worried that the helicopter might blow it off the edge.
 
Bet there is an extra crease in those seats.
Talk about pucker factor!
 
Latest word is they picked it up off the mountain with a helicopter and it's back on a more solid footing :smile:
