must do. I have recently been running my midget up and down my driveway (maybe a 10th of a mile) with a straight pipe out the back with no muffler and I just love that sound. I must make me a good exhaust cutout to where I can pull a cable or flip a switch and change from muffled coming out the back to a straight pipe out the back. I been looking and can't find anything that I think will work right. All the decent ones are very expensive and are for much bigger pipes. It looks like I am going to have to make one myself from stainless steel or something. When I was younger I used to buy the ones from JC whitney or wherever that where cast iron and they always leaked bad and were pretty much useless. This is something I have been thinking about for a while and since I am back at work I have more resources to work with in getting one made. Once I get set up to make one of these, I am going to probably make at least 2, so I will have a spare if something happens. Nothing like the sound of a 1275 with a long straight pipe /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
 
Funny you should mention that, Kim, it's also on my "to do" list for "The Spridget Project" '62 Sprite.

My brother had one on his '58 Ford (352 bored to 413) when I was a kid. He bought it from J C Whitney (they still have them) with money picked up on Friday nights...if you know what I mean.

My welding skills are coming along an I think I may be able to fabricate one when the time comes. It will be a simple "Y" with a butterfly controlled by a flex cable...just like the original ones.

Of couse, I may not need it as the exhaust will be pretty much a straight though anyway; Winners Circle LCB header into a 1 7/8"-2" adapter, 2" pipe, into a 2"X18" Cherry Bomb glass pack.

Was my experience back in the day on a 54 Ford that they leaked to bad to be useable. Soooo, for my lakes pipes I used large plumbing valves, what is called a gate valve I think and had it in the lakes pipe side so even with the bit of restruction it provided it did not cut off the exhaust flow at all as the regular sides were open always.
