It Never Ends With These Little Cars!!

Since the TD is coming home from the body shop as soon as we have a sunny day, I decided to get the '63 Midget into the bay where I pull engine/trans - gotta install a new clutch before Missouri next summer (when I backed it into the garage earlier this year, it barely pulled itself over the lip, the clutch was so bad)....I took it off its "skates" to position & what did I find?

Brake fluid leaking from the driver front wheel! So, while I've got it up in the air pulling the drivetrain, I've gotta do the brakes.

Here come the "might as well's"!

Tony,

See you aren't driving this car often enough. That's why it is leaking.

Sometimes those Miatas do look inviting...but then again who knows what problems 40 year old Miatas will have?

Friend of mine bought a used Miata recently for his wife to cruise around in during the summer. It needed a new engine (due to PO abuse, likely) within a few months. Rare story, I'm sure, but still...

You've got too many cars, Tony. They're crying for some attention. You're welcome to store a few of them at my place, I'll be happy to keep them properly excercised. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

hmmm...since I'm gonna have the wire wheels off to check the brakes, think I'll sand blast & paint them....

& that pull starter switch was acting a bit peculiar the last few times I pulled it & I do have one on the shelf; so, while the engine is out for the new clutch...

& I've gotta pull the radiator to get the engine out so might as well take it to David's so he can boil, flush, pressurize...

& I was gonna put a new paint job on it before Missouri & I don't like the luggage rack or radio antenna....

&.......................

Tony, because you're such a good friend, if you send me a few of your cars, I will drive them at least once a week so that you don't have these kinds of problems.

No,no... no need to thank me. It's my pleasure to do this favor for you. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

What nice, supportive friends we are, offering Tony all this help. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

& I really appreciate it all.....now, if you guys would like to, come on down & let's finish up some of these projects!

If I lived closer, Tony, I'd be there.
