I meant did Little Richard have an influence or was he also influenced by Sister Rosetta Tharpe. I think he came from a similar background.

Well, per Wikipedia Sister Rosetta was recording for Decca records in 1938 when she was 23. Little Richard was about 6 years old then, so if I was going to hazzard a guess I would say he was most likely influenced by her.

It occued to me that her life story would make a great movie.
 
I did not realize that Jimi Hendrix was the guitarist in one of Little Richard's bands The Upsetters. Seems they did not get along. Clash of personalities.
