It Could Have Turned Out MUCH Worse

Our Son-In-Law was at a baseball game Saturday. He had our Grandson
on his lap until he got fussy,& sat him down next to him.
Right after that, our S-I-L got hit in the face by a foul ball.It broke his nose,
& badly hurt his eye.He can't lie down,or lift anything of any weight. He's seeing
doctors,& sounds like he's improving.
It's scary to think what could have happened,as there were other kids close
to where he was sitting.
He was planning on coming to our Granddaughter's high school graduation
tomorrow, but won't be able to attend.

Oh wow. Glad the grandson wasn’t hurt. Hope your SIL recovers quickly.

A number of years ago (10-15 maybe) a young woman at an NHL game was sitting in the second tier behind the net and was hit by a puck (it was deflected off a defensive players stick). She died of her injuries which is terribly sad and now there are nets at either end of the rinks for spectator safety.
I hope your son in law recovers fully and quickly…!

yikes - best to your Son in Law and the family

Wishing a speedy and complete recovery. Hope the pain is not too bad; I’ve never broken a nose but imagine it to be quite uncomfortable?

And yes, it could have turned out much worse… yowzers!

Very sorry to hear that Doug and a blessing that your grandson was out of the way. Putting the grandson out of the way at that moment sounds like a higher power was looking down and protecting him. Hoping the SIL recovers without any after-effects. (y)

Son-in-law DID make it to the graduation today. His eye didn't look
as bad as we expected it to.He can see out of that eye,but his vision is
blurry. Still has a ways to go.
On the up side, our Granddaughter graduated. She's been living with
us for about the last year.Did poorly in the first two semesters, but brought
up her grades in the last two.
