That Kandace comes aboard and wallah, there's a flaming post - a girl after my own heart! I may not even have to take her under my wing (or horns as it be)

And, to keep this post MG-related...
/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

MGB-GT with a V8 conversion is the project I'm pushing (albeit unsuccessfully at this time) with olwhatshisname.

flaming post? I must've missed that one

Not flaming flaming, flaming as in on fire!

Janel...I have a gallon of paint you can have cheap for that V8 conversion! Mangles can spray it with his eyes shut!

Nope, I don't want no lavender and pink GT!

just stick that can of V8 you have laying around the house under the bonnet and be done! I know you've done it before... why not do it again? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

I've thought about doing a V8 conversion on my GT, but I'm not 100% positive an Oldsmobile 455 wil actually fit in the engine compartment and I'm not sure if the brakes are capable of stopping an engine that big ( assuming that is, that the engine doesn't twist the transmission out of place
or that the massive increase in power doesn't turn the GT into a straight line vehicle. Of course, curves ARE overrated. Give me 0-60 4.5 seconds any day! )

I'm thinkin' Olds Toronado power/transmission unit sitting behind the seats and two B blocks chained down under the hood to reduce the tendency to wheel stand! Jack

Ingram, what 8 do you have in your GT?

Rover 3.9 is actually bolted in situ. Nothing bolted to it, though.

Pbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbtttttttttttttttt!

Keep it up and you may own a nice lavender tourer courtesy of Midnight Painting Services, Inc!

Hey, I've never seen your GT. In fact, I'm not completely convinced you own one, I've only seen the Duct Tape Special, remember? All I know about your color choice is what Mangles told me...

Binabox's "4 month greay" is actually in the lavender color chip family. I have a couple pics from the shop where she has a very unsettling lilac hue.

I'd recommend driving an MG with a modern engine before spending the money. I always wanted a V6 GT, but when I drove one I hated it. The power curve wasn't to my liking, the sound wasn't to my liking, the look of the engine in the car wasn't to my liking and it didn't feel anything like an MG, or even like a vintage car. I was very disappointed but at the same time relieved that I was able to drive one before buying.

You may like it, everyone is different. But then again you may not and it's a LOT of money and effort to go through if you're going to end up selling the thing.

And remember, an MG with a modern engine, suspension, etc is no longer an MG. It's a custom, special or hot rod... take your pick!

Yup, you're right.

(man I don't say that very often)
