is this worthwhile getting

I have two - I think they are worth having, I use mine for tach at least - plus they look cool! That said, I think he wants about 5 times what it is worth.

Definitely way too much money, for what it is. I've been eyeing them locally for $20-$30.

But of course I already have a tach/dwell, a vacuum gauge, a battery tester and DMM; so having them all in one big metal (paint scratching) box isn't that much of an advantage for me. It might be more useful if you don't have any other instruments already.
 
Does it sniff tail pipes?
Not the one that weewillie linked to, no. There are units that do, but they are much newer and more expensive.

well I got it for half price now just gotta figure out how to use it lol
 
came with everything including vacuum gauge, instruction manual in great shape and even batteries
