is this really stupid?

Exactly what we're doing with my '68 GT "racer"....built the new aluminum radiator support that is also a front fender brace & am in process of cutting a hole in carb side...am thinking about running 4" hose from that hole to just in front of carbs...& ducting around the radiator like you did, Hap...I don't mind copying things that work!
 
I found out about the float bowl vent the hard way (I didn't know it at the time) on my '66 B that was my first car. I had the idea as noted above, rewelded the snorkel on the rear air cleaner so it would point forward, put two hoses on the air cleaners and directed them in front of the radiator support. First drive was a total disaster, brought it home and changed it back. Keep in mind, I was 17 (1977) and knew nothing, except that cold air made more power I guess!
