Is this normal -- top frame when folded

I put the folding top frame on my MGB this week, and this is how it sits when folded. Is this normal? Looks like I won't be able to use my tonneau cover with this top installed.

Looks to be sitting a little high...how do you have the hood folded?

(There is a diagram in the Owners Handbook.)

And don't forget to use your tonneau bars.

Hood material is not yet attached, this is just the bare frame.

Make sure you have the bow that pivots folded the right direction. If not, it can bind and keep the frame from dropping completely.

I'll check that when I get home. Which way is it supposed to pivot?

I KNEW you were going to ask that, and the B is getting a respray, so it's not here for me to check. Hopefully, someone will jump in a verify, but I think it pivots forward.

I put a Prestige Mohair top on the wifes 72 and now it wont drop all the way down due to the thickness of the material and the inter liner. But the tonneau still fits, only sets a little high. As the USPS says, "If it fits, it ships"! So what's the big concern? :driving: PJ

I did a test fit and the tonneau cover I have doesn't fit with this frame (and this is frame only right now, no top fabric yet). I've got a line on another frame from someone local, will be picking it up on Friday. I'll see which one sits in the car best and use the best of the two.

So I just tried a second top frame and it sits the same way. I guess that's just the way my car is.
