I can't find what this is for. It looks a bit like an axle bearing retaining plate off a US car. Can anyone confirm whether it belongs on a Healey or not.

Without any reference to size (like throwing a dollar bill in the same picture), you'll only get wags (wild-a$$ guesses).

To me, it looks like the bearing retaining flange halves for a self-aligning bearing, like on the rear-axle of a go kart.

Here's an example of a 2-hole bearing cassette (I'm aware of 3-hole types, but who knows, maybe there're 4-hole types too?). The diameter of the axle is 1":

I guess I need more recent pictures, as the R1 has since had an original steering wheel fitted, and the wheels are now painted the same yellow as the chassis. Now that I have an X5 again, maybe I'll get it out and over to the track this coming spring/summer...
 
Can't tell without size measurements, but off-hand I'd say that part is used to center/steady the steering column as it passes through the dash. There is a rubber ring that seals the column.

If it's too small (your brackets) it could be the ones holding and insulating the battery cable from the rear bulkhead in the trunk assuming your working on a later model car. Again there's a rubber seal trapped in the brackets to protect the battery cable from chafing.
 
Haha, oops that was a bit dumb. Normally I'm the guy telling people to put a size reference in the pic. Size is approx 100mm wide by 80mm high.

Just had a look at the steering column-dash hole and it doesn't match up to anything I can see. Given how big the bolt holes are (~10mm) I'm beginning to think it isn't Healey.
