Is there a low profile tire for 73

Curious if there is a low profile tire that will fit a 73 MGB wire wheel? I've read all the previous messages I found but most were going higher? Also curious on the opinions of a low profile on a MG instead of closer to stock.

Sorry but the answer is NO. Due to the width of the wheel being 4.5" you can't get a low profile tire to work with the rim width. I know 185/70 tires work on a MGB wire wheel and possibly a 185/65 tire.

Sumitomo makes a 185/60 HR-14
Availbale from tire rack for $35.

if you had a low profile tire on stock wheels your wheel wells would look pretty empty if you were to have a low profile tire you could use a 16 inch or maybe even a 17 inch wheel but from what i've heard it could be no wider that 6 inches

Ah, but this is Albuquerque we live in! Small wheels on cars is all the rage (why, I have no idea). The other day I saw a Cadellac Escallante (sp), the big, expensive SUV they make sporting wheels the size of a Mini! (Well, mayby a bit bigger, but not much).

Ike, trust me on this - stic with stock sized tires, or maybe a bit oversized if you must deviate. To do otherwise would ruin the look of your B in my humble opinion.

Thanks for the welcome. Doesn't seem to be too many MGs in Albuquerque. I am starting to find more and more of them though.
I have decided to go with the stock tire size or at least the one that comes the closest to the original.

205x60x14 will fit under wheelwells!
